Halloween in SoCal is a way of life; it’s a season, not a holiday. A quintessential part of that Halloween season is Knott’s Berry Farm’s spooktacular Knott’s Scary Farm event, and it’s that time of year again. Knott’s Scary Farm opened officially on the evening of September 24th and runs on select nights through Halloween. To kick off the scares and screams, Gigasavvy invited 182 of Southern California’s bloggers, social media influencers, and their guests to enjoy the opening night at a special media event.

Social media influencers and bloggers experienced firsthand the terrifying new thrills Knott’s has cooked up for 2015. They were loving the mazes, monsters, and shows—and showed their love with an impressive amount of updates and photos on social media that evening. In fact, #ScaryFarm was trending that night on Instagram. Over 900 Instagram posts received a combined 36,145 likes and reached over 1.3 million people. The media guests tweeted up a storm as they meandered through the thick fog of Knott’s Scary Farm, generating over 2,300 tweets and reaching nearly four million people. If you happened to be online that night, you might have caught several of the Periscopes that were screaming, err–streaming that evening.
What’s in Store at Knott’s for Halloween This Year
If you’re not already pumped for Scary Farm this year, here are some reasons you should be:
This year’s haunt features 11 mazes, pulled from the imagination of a twisted team and designed for a truly terrifying experience. New to the lineup this year are Dead of Winter, an icy wonderland ravaged by undead Vikings and a vicious Snow Queen, and Paranormal Inc., where guests experience a paranormal investigation in an abandoned mental hospital. The returning mazes have been reimagined to be even worse than years past, including everyone’s favorite maze to hate, Tooth Fairy. We won’t spoil the new ending of that one for you, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
Two all-new shows add even more to the entertainment during Knott’s Scary Farm. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, makes her return to the Knott’s theatre, and the classic live comedy The Hanging is back in Calico Square with a new interactive twist.
All of that is jam-packed into the park along with over 1,000 monsters just waiting to jump out and scare the bejeezus out of you. Doesn’t that sound like fun? We’ll see you there if you dare…
