Darco Spirits, parent company and makers of Beach Whiskey, known for Island Coconut and Bonfire Cinnamon flavored clear whiskey, came to us with ambitions to expand the Beach Whiskey product line with four new canned cocktails.

Embracing the spirit of summer vibrancy, we recognized our challenge: to capture the essence of beach life in a tangible expansion of their product line, appealing to consumer desires for convenience and novelty. This involved integrating their dynamic ‘Out There’ campaign into our strategy. This became a key element in our approach, especially in the innovative packaging design, where we seamlessly blended the campaign’s message with functional elements.

To invigorate Beach Whiskey’s brand identity and portfolio, our team conceptualized and launched “Summer in a Can”, which introduced the 4 new flavors, Watermelon Peach, Mango Lemonade, Pineapple Coconut, and Strawberry Lemonade with a playful nod to the summer state of mind. We designed distinctive packaging that stood out on the shelves, featuring vibrant colors that spoke to both the brand’s essence and consumer values. 

In a strategic move to enhance consumer engagement, we incorporated a flow code on each can, paving the way for a seamless transition from the physical product interaction to digital brand experiences. 


We succeeded in crafting a narrative of fun, flavor and quality which was woven throughout our marketing efforts. Beach Whiskey saw an increase in click through rate over 60%. The packaging was noticeable among a myriad of competitors in store refrigerator cases, and the entire creative collection for the campaign and package design was honored with a Silver Addy award in 2023.
